About AHLS

“Advanced Hazmat Life Support courses teach the skills necessary for the medical management of hazardous materials incidents, including exposure to nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, as well as everyday hazardous materials."

Offered by Saveetha Medical College and The University of Arizona, the AHLS Provider/Instructor course is co-presented by Saveetha Medical College, AHLS and the AACT (American Academy of Clinical Toxicology).
The program covers important hazmat properties, decontamination, rapid assessment and treatment of hazmat-exposed patients, antidotes, drug therapy and establishment of hazmat response systems in the community.
Since 1999, AHLS has trained over 20,000 healthcare professionals from 78 countries. Currently there are around 600 AHLS Instructors globally, serving the training needs of their local communities.

FRANK G. WALTER, MD, FACEP, FACMT, FAACT,
is the Professor of Emergency Medicine & Editor, Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS), Arizona Emergency Medicine Research Center, College of Medicine. He is also Professor of Pharmacy Practice & Science, College of Pharmacy, The University of Arizona, USA.
